On Sunday 5th of october, Kenyan Gen Zs flooded the JCM Church in Ruiru for the thanksgiving event of Kaluma Boy following the mega fundraiser held last week.The young people had promised to show up in large numbers for the event and they did not fail the family. The thanksgiving ceremony was attended by hundreds of TikTokers, content creators, and youth, all moved by Kaluma's story.
While at the church the congregation did one more fundraiser for the family and lots of money was raised to support the family.Bishop Kiengei led the event, urging attendees to come together once more to change the family's life permanently. One of the highlights of the day came when Kiengei announced that, following the family's gift of land in Chaka, a shop named Kaluma Boy's Enterprises would be set up for Kaluma's mother.
The shop would provide her with a sustainable source of income, as Kaluma studies in the university after landing a fully funded scholarship. In a heartwarming show of compassion, Kenyans both in attendance and watching online rallied behind the cause, donating millions within minutes to help set up the family's business.
Adding to the emotional atmosphere, Ndia MP George Kariuki, popularly known as GK, led the donations with an extraordinary act of generosity.
The legislator, who has become a darling among the youth, donated a posho mill machine to help Mama Kaluma start a milling business alongside her shop.
Kariuki went a step further, contributing KSh 200,000 to the fundraiser aimed at stocking the family's new shop. whelmed by the compassion and support from Kenyans and leaders alike. Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke after the event, Kariuki said he was deeply moved by Kaluma's story and felt the need to contribute towards changing the family's life.
TUKO.co.ke also reported that media personality Baby Top, alias Muthoni wa Kirumba, contributed to Mama Kaluma's shop. She was among the celebrities who gave generously, donating KSh 200,000 towards the cause. Her kind gesture was met with loud cheers from the congregation and praise from Kenyans online.
Kenyans have thanked the young people for their unending support to the family of Kaluma.They have urged them to extend the same kindness to other Kenyans that are going through difficult times so that they can too be happy.
