A popular Tanzanian TikToker, Niffer Jovin, has been charged with treason after posting a video of herself dancing to a song that authorities claim mocked President Samia Suluhu Hassan. The case has shocked the nation and sparked widespread debate about freedom of expression and the boundaries of creative content in Tanzania.
According to local reports, the viral video showed Jovin dancing cheerfully to a trending song whose lyrics were interpreted as critical of President Samia's leadership.
